Welcome to the fountain of knowledge page! Or at least, a page that will try to answer as many questions as possible that you may have about press on nails. How do I apply the nails using nail glue?
Start with clean, dry, oil-free nails. Gently buff the surface of your natural nail and push back your cuticles. Select the correct size press-on for each finger ( I like to line them up ready, but maybe that's just because it's so aesthetically pleasing!). Apply a thin layer of nail glue to your natural nail AND a thin layer to the press-on nail, then press the nail firmly down from the cuticle edge, holding for 30 seconds. Avoid water for at least 1 hour after application for the strongest bond.
What if only want to wear them for a short time?
Gel tabs are a great semi-permanent option. Prep your nails as above — clean, dry, and oil-free. Peel the gel tab off the sheet and apply to your nail, ensuring you have chosen a size that fits close to the edge of your cuticle but not touching it. Remove the top layer from the tab, angle your press on at 45 degrees as you lower and press firmly onto your natural nail for 30 seconds. Gel tabs are ideal for short-term wear (2–3 days) and allow for easy, damage-free removal.
How do I remove the nails without damaging my natural nails?
Never force or peel off press-on nails as this can damage your natural nails. For glue-on nails, soak your fingertips in warm soapy water (dish soap is great!) and a tablespoon of olive, coconut or cuticle oil for at least 15 minutes to loosen the bond, then gently wiggle the nail from side to side until it lifts. You can also use a cuticle stick after soaking to carefully ease the nail away from the cuticle edge. For gel tab nails, simply peel gently from the side — no soaking needed.
Can I wear them while swimming?
Definitely! As long as you're not planning on jumping into the pool straight after glue application, you can enjoy any aquatic activities as normal.
Are my press on sets re-usable?
They certainly can be, depending on how you apply them and if you care for them properly. If you use the gel tabs to apply, the nails can be re-used many times. Once you have removed the nails, use the cuticle stick supplied to gently remove any gel tab remaining and then clean them in soapy water, dry on a paper towel and then store them in the nail box provided. It can be possible to re-use press ons once when using liquid gel, if you carefully file the remaining glue from the inside surface of the nails, and there are files shaped specifically for this, but I do find this very time consuming!

Top Tips for Long-Lasting Nail Retention
- Always prep nails thoroughly — clean, buff, and remove all oils before application.
- Avoid prolonged exposure to water, especially in the first few hours after application.
- Avoid picking at or knocking the nails against hard surfaces.
- Use the correct size — a nail that's too wide or too narrow won't bond as well.
- Store unused press-ons in a cool, dry place to maintain their shape and adhesive quality.
- If possible, apply your nails in the evening after you have showered or bathed! This will give the maximum amount of time for the nails to adhere properly.
